Nestled on the northernmost tip of Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays, Qualia is surrounded by the playful curiosities of the Coral Sea. Just 9 miles off the Queensland coast, it's the only Great Barrier Reef island with its own commercial jet airport, welcoming daily flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns. Rather fly in on your own? A helicopter pad is located directly on the property, and private jets can also be accommodated at the airport.

If air isn’t for you, arrival by sea can also be done, with Hamilton Island Marina serviced by Shute Harbour Ferry. Along the way, let the crystal-clear waters and sugar-white sand excite you, for they’re an alluring hint towards the exceptional experience that’s in store. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your very own Qualia host and chauffeured in a Mercedes to the grounds.

Qualia’s 60 individually-designed pavilions have been built to compliment the natural surroundings of the hotel, drawing views of the tropical bushland and ocean into its gorgeous interiors. Natural tones like timber, glass and stone have been utilized throughout the property, adding a subtle nod to the inspiration that started it all.

Today’s guests have their choice of three luxurious accommodation options: Leeward Pavilion, Windward Pavilion, and Beach House. While the former two are idyllic one-bedroom retreats with either ocean or island views, the Beach House offers a little more space to entertain, with a dining table suited to 10, two bedrooms and bathrooms and your own private lap pool.

Leeward Pavilion Relax and unwind in one of 33 Leeward Pavilions, creatively designed to celebrate the Whitsundays’ legendary sunsets. Southwest facing and freestanding, each suite spans 968 square feet and has a king bed and a lounge area leading to a private sundeck. A stone ensuite bathroom with separate shower and bath make up the rest of the room, and other features include a gourmet mini bar, flat-screen television, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and use of an electric golf buggy.

Windward Pavilion The 26 north-facing Windward Pavilions are each 1291 square feet, with polished timber floors leading to floor-to-ceiling windows. Shaded by Eucalypts and drawing the beautiful outdoors in, each pavilion boasts its own private plunge pool, luxurious king bed, separate lounge area, private furnished sundeck and stone ensuite bathroom with separate bath and shower. A gourmet mini bar, flat-screen television, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and use of an electric golf buggy is included.

Beach House Generously proportioned and emulating an elegant, laidback ambience, the Beach House at Qualia can sleep four guests and entertain up to 10. A private 39-foot infinity-edge swimming pool is the crown jewel of the space, running along the length of the outdoor entertaining and dining areas. One of two bedrooms has direct pool access and an ensuite with separate bath and shower, while the other is in the adjoining guest house with its own sundeck and ensuite. A gourmet mini bar, flat-screen television, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and use of up to two electric golf buggies is included.
