At The Boatshed, guests have their choice of four cozy accommodation types: the three Boatsheds with their nostalgic beach hut feel, the three-story Lighthouse with its romantic tower, the Bridge with its lofty views over the bay, and the two Bungalows that take a nod towards the traditional kiwi ‘Bach.’
Design features at The Boatshed include comfy seating areas, open fires, private decks and teak furniture. Think spiral staircases, shuttered balconies and whitewashed wooden rooms. All the accommodations at The Boatshed feature air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, a mini bar, television, DVD and CD player, base iPad dock, beach gear, reading material and Wi-Fi.
Boatsheds
Accommodating two guests, the Boatsheds have a nostalgic beach hut feel complete with louvered shutters and sea breezes. With views of the garden, you can enjoy features like an open fire, complimentary treats, evening port, a mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. There’s even a collection of magazines, books and CDs for you to enjoy, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi.
Bridge
Sitting high and overlooking the beach, the Bridge rooms sleep two and are elegantly appointed with a traditional porch, louvered shutters and an open fire. Watch the boats bob in the bay as you enjoy complimentary treats, evening port, a mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. There are a collection of magazines, books and CDs for your use, as well as beach gear including an umbrella, beach bag, beach mat and sunscreen. Please note the Bridge Room is one of two options able to accommodate an infant up to 12 months.
Lighthouse
The most romantic and unique suite at The Boatshed, the Lighthouse sleeps two in a three-story tower with white-washed wooden bedroom and a day room at the top. Glass doors reveal stunning views of the boats in the bay, and breakfast can be brought to you via a private meal service lift. Complimentary treats, evening port, a mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities are available, as well as a collection of magazines, books and CDs and beach gear like an umbrella, beach bag, mat and sunscreen.
Bungalows
Sleeping two, the substantial Bungalow suites are set apart from the main lodge and offer the kind of relaxed beach living that one looks for on a holiday. Equipped with air conditioning, an open fire, traditional internal porch and a freestanding bath for two, it’s an ideal retreat for a couple and can accommodate an infant up to 12 months if required. Watertower
Totaling 1076 square feet of space, the modern zinc-clad Watertower is set across three stories, with large open north, west and south facing sea views. Connected by a spiral staircase, the first floor has the bedroom, ensuite bathroom, lounge and living room with fireplace, while the second floor boasts a dayroom with butler’s kitchen and lounge. A planted rooftop garden has a barbecue and spacious bath for two, while an integrated Bang & Olufsen entertainment system creates whatever atmosphere you choose.
Owners Cottage
A north-facing private villa with intimate bay and ocean views, the Owner’s Cottage offers complete privacy alongside the full service of a hotel. The cottage itself stretches an impressive 1291 square feet, while an additional 322 square-foot Cabana can sleep four in multiple configurations. Enjoy a full chef’s kitchen, three fireplaces and multiple indoor and outdoor dining areas, with an outdoor barbecue bringing casual meals to the private courtyard and heated pool. Dedicated staff for the cottage have their own service area, and an integrated Bang & Olufsen entertainment system and grand piano are there for you to enjoy.
