Full Day Akaroa Day Tour with Cruise & Lunch

This 8-hour tour begins at the old French whaling depot of Akaroa, where you’ll stop at the cheese factory at Barry's Bay and sample some fine New Zealand cheese. Enjoy lunch at Bully Hayes, a popular restaurant on the water front in the heart of Akaroa, then make a choice of either a two-hour cruise on the Canterbury Cat or to explore the delights of the charming village. On the water, chances are high of sighting dolphins, penguins and seals. If time permits on the return journey to Christchurch, stop at Birdling Flat on the Kaitorete Spit. This stony beach at the entrance to Lake Forsyth provides a commanding view of the southern facing cliffs of the Banks Peninsula, and an interesting selection of pebbles and semi-precious stones can be found lying on the beach.
