EL QUESTRO HOMESTEAD LOCATION
Hopping aboard a short flight from Darwin to Kununurra, you’ll find yourself just a 2-hour drive from El Questro Homestead. Perched atop a cliff overlooking the Chamberlain River and Gorge, expect to see rock wallabies, Johnston crocodiles and the incredibly cunning archer fish amongst dramatic scenery like winding rivers and mudflats, turquoise waters and rust-red dirt.
The 200-foot escarpment of the ancient gorge is a sight to see in itself, arguably best viewed on a river cruise or boat tour. Of course, you can just as easily take in panoramic views from the comfort of your private deck or free-standing tub. The wettest months, January and February, offer some of the most spectacular raging waterfalls, roaring rivers and land replenished by rain, though the rest of the year you can enjoy dry and warm (or sometimes hot and humid) days.
Surrounded by frangipani trees and pretty views, the nine suites of El Questro Homestead offer chic and cozy interiors. Inside your air-conditioned bedroom, floor-to-ceiling windows draw the outside in, and some suites have outdoor free-standing tubs so you can bathe beneath the starry night sky. Lie upon your feather-topped bed or unwind on your private deck – every spot in your suite combines ultimate relaxation with a unique and memorable experience.
Beginning each day with birdsong and ending with a locally sourced three-course dinner, El Questro Homestead truly goes above and beyond. Highlighted for hosting delicious dinners in dramatic locations, you may find yourself imbibing at the bottom of a waterfall, tasting treats on an airport tarmac or simply enjoying the view from a private spot overlooking the gorge.
