Tucked secretly within the grasslands of the South Island’s Ahuriri Valley, The Lindis is New Zealand’s newest adventure lodge.
The structure itself strikes an impressive balance between standing out and blending in, with a sleek, low profile, modern design and neutral, earthy elements.
Bordered on three sides by conservation parks and set upon 6000 acres, it’s an exclusive and enticing retreat designed for the sophisticated traveler.
Hosting just 10 guests at a time across five beautifully-designed suites, guests of The Lindis can soak up the solitude or arrange to try an activity.
One of the top fly-fishing locations in the world is just a short walk from your suite, and hiking, mountain biking and horse riding can all easily be arranged.
Watch the stars sweep across the sky come nightfall or indulge in a delicious meal at the on-site restaurant.
The daily menus feature an abundance of local produce, prepared in a contemporary and wholesome way.
Nestled within 6000 acres of unspoiled, natural beauty, The Lindis is isolated within one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand. The Ahuriri Valley is recognized for its dramatic landscape of snow-capped mountains, wetlands, tussock grasslands and beech forests, and the views from The Lindis do not disappoint.
Situated on the lower half of New Zealand’s South Island, The Lindis can be reached by car from Wanaka in 1 hour and 20 minutes, or from Tekapo in an hour and a half. Should you find yourself coming directly from Queenstown, the drive is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.
An exclusive resort with just five rooms, guests of The Lindis can choose to stay in one of two Master Suites or in one of three Lodge Suites. The foremost boast spectacular views, private indoor and outdoor sitting areas, a double-sided gas fire place and a luxurious tub, and the latter tempts the same but with an ensuite excluding the bath.
Dining at The Lindis is an exemplary experience where menus change daily to reflect season and location. Each dinner is preluded by drinks and a charcuterie station, and the meal is always multi-course. During the day, take your pick of activities – even gliding can be arranged from the lodge’s own private air strip, so you can go soaring over the Milford Sound.
Lodge Suite
Accommodating a maximum of two adults and one child, the Lodge Suite offers uninterrupted views of the Ahuriri Valley. Rooms include sumptuous furnishings, a king-size bed, private indoor and outdoor sitting areas, a private ensuite and a gas fireplace.

The Master Suite at The Lindis also accommodates up to two adults and one child, with the same expansive views of the Ahuriri Valley, a king bed, private indoor and outdoor sitting areas, private ensuite and a gas fireplace. Unlike the Lodge Suites, the Master Suites also have a luxurious bath tub.
