Blenheim INTRODUCTION
Tallying 2,438 hours of sunshine per year, Blenheim is a quaint little spot in the Marlborough wine region.
Regarded as the gateway to the wineries of the Wairau Valley, you can base yourself here for local cafes, restaurants, wineries and bars, alongside shops, artisan food outlets and golf courses.
Spend an afternoon stopping at cellar doors for samples, and an evening on the fairways perfecting your swing. The Marlborough Farmers market is an absolute must-do in the area, as is the Omaka Aviation Heritage Center.
The latter is a collection of historical WWI and WWII aircrafts and memorabilia, much of which has been supplied from Peter Jackson’s personal collection.
Of course, Blenheim wouldn’t be true to its roots without a museum about winemaking, and you can find this as well at the Marlborough Museum.
