You haven’t truly seen Australia until you’ve stepped outside of its cities and into the endless countryside. 

The iconic Australian outback adds a unique identity to the land, and holds plenty of experiences for all types of travelers. 

For the active, hike rugged rock escarpments and stand over a rushing river gorge. 

Explore towns like Alice Springs, and national parks like Kununurra. 

If you get tired, camels can take you for a ride through the rest of the rust-colored sands, or out to a luxurious dining experience at the very base of Uluru. Naturally, not all of our Australia off the beaten track vacations take place in the desert. 

The oldest living rainforest in the world, the Daintree Rainforest, can be found here as well, as can countless small towns that dot endless fields and farmland. 

Go on an artisan food tour to try homemade cheeses, ice creams, fudges and bread. 

Or, strap on a snorkel to explore the Great Barrier Reef. 

While certainly not as lesser-known as the former, its enormous space and countless creatures will make you feel far removed from the rest of the world.
